INTRODUCTION
I PINE
I pine
For the supernal light,
For the light infinite,
For the light of the God of truth.
The God of my life,
The living God,
Who sustains the universe.
My longing consumes my strength
Of body and spirit,
I am not endowed with the knowledge
Nor have I been prepared
To still this great longing.
I prostrate myself profusely
Before the Sovereign of all worlds
Whose hand is open
To satisfy every living thing with favor.
Grant my desire,
Grant me the light of Your revelation,
Satisfy my thirst for Your light,
Illumine me with Your light
And I shall be helped.
