Waltham, MA: Leading collection of modern and contemporary art in New England. Jewish–oriented museum at Jewish–oriented Brandeis.
The collection was launched originally with iconic works by Jasper Johns, Rauschenberg, Any Warhol, Ray Lichtenstein, and Willem de Kooning.
[Later, in 2009, an uproar would ensue after Brandeis announced it would sell off the entire collection in the face of the financial “Meltdown” of the so–called Great Recession. The Rose family was not amused.]
