Cleveland, OH: June 3: Sally Priesand becomes the first woman rabbi ordained in the USA by Reform’s HUC–JIR (Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion).
–followed in 1974 by the Reconstructionist Movement’s RRC (Reconstructionist Rabbinical College): Rabbi Sandy Eisenberg Sasso ordained and in 1985, by the Conservative Movement’s JTS (Jewish Theological Seminary): Rabbi Amy Eilberg ordained.
