January 30: Oswiecim, Southern Poland: Oprah Winfrey, US talk–show mega–star host visits the notorious Nazi death camp with Nobel Peace Prize winner Wiesel, in conjunction with her assigning Wiesel’s Holocaust–classic NIGHT as her OPRAH’s book of the month selection. A camera crew accompanied the joint visit, with footage aired nationwide 4 months later (May 24) in North America.
Oprah had keyed–in on the right book and the right ‘messenger’ and the optimal venue (and the right medium, of course). The bizarre and quite–twisted cults of Holocaust deniers worldwide go into depression.
