Professor of Economics Henry Rosovsky named Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard.
He was the university’s first Jewish dean, at the helm of Harvard’s crown jewel division.
The astute student body heard the message “loud and clear,” as well.
Informal and de facto quotas against Jews, in particular, and other minorities would fall.

Rosovsky, born in the Free City of Danzig (Gdansk) in 1927, would later serve as Acting President of Harvard in transition years 1984 and 1988.
